My Story

“Grief, I’ve learned, is really just love. It’s all the love you want to give but cannot. All that unspent love gathers up in the corners of your eyes, the lump in your throat, and in that hollow part of your chest. Grief is just love with no place to go” ~ Jamie Anderson

The Journey Collective started as a journey of grief.  Grief for dear friends who had lost their beautiful son far too soon.  He was a young man full of life and love for the people around him.

As I walked through this season with his mom, I had a deep desire to do something.  Something that showed her how much I loved her. It almost felt like giving her a piece of my heart to help mend the place in hers that was broken.  I wanted it to be a gift as beautiful as her son's spirit and something she could keep with her all the time.

That is how the "Forever" bracelet was born.  Made with my own two hands to represent a piece of my heart that I wanted to share with her and that she would always know how special of a person she is to me.  I have designated that a portion of the proceeds of this bracelet go to Landmark Training Development Company where her son served teaching others nutrition and horticulture.

The above quote has a line in it that says, "Grief is just love with no place to go".  Maybe part of the healing comes through taking all of that love and pouring it into the grief of others.  It is my prayer that the people who receive a bracelet would feel seen, known and loved.
